Designed and manufactured to meet rigid safety standards.  FlorLIFT Multi Level totally enclosed lifts are the low cost solution to provide safe and easy movement of the handicapped from one floor to another.  Easily installed.  The lifts require minimum space and no extensive supplementary construction.  FlorLIFT Multi-Level complies with ANSI & ASME code A17.1 (LU/LA) "Limited Use/Limited Application" section 2000 for vertical rising handicapped lifting devices.  When placing an order FlorLIFT will prepare detailed drawings for your approval depicting exactly the general specifications required to suit the application including modifications or special features that might be needed.

FlorLIFT MULTI-LEVEL handicapped lift is a hydraulically driven totally enclosed, vertical lifting device on a cantilevered platform used to provide secure, economical and safe transportation for handicapped persons from one floor to another.  Designs can incorporate service from simple two-level structures up to any number of multilevel applications as permitted. Each Multi-Level handicapped lift is individually designed to meet your unique application whether its use will be in new construction or in renovating an existing building.  FlorLIFT can solve your handicapped accessibility needs.

The INTRICATE MAST FRAME, which can be either Free-Standing or Bolt to Wall, is constructed of electrically welded heavy structural steel.  Any application that requires travel of more than six feet will have bolt type splice section to reduce overall mast height for shipping and ease of installation.

​

FS - Free-Standing means that the structural mast frame will be designed to support cab reactions imposed by the platform cab and its load.

​

BTW - Bolt-To-Wall means the structural mast frame will be designed to support cab reactions; however, pull-out forces at the wall brackets necessitate construction at the load bearing wall strong enough to accommodate the reactions imposed thereon.  

​

The PLATFORM CARRIAGE travels within the mast frame rails.  Four (4) solid steel guide wheels with sealed roller bearings and side thrust cam rolls are useful for efficient and smooth operation.

​

The PLATFORM DECK intricately bolts to the carriage.  This aids in shipment and installation.  The support legs are structural steel channel with a heavy gauge steel sheet deck.

​

The PLATFORM CAB encloses the deck on the sides and top.  The cab comes standard with a hatch and light.  Entrance/exit can be on one, two, or three sides.  (See cab configurations.)  Protection at the openings is by an EZY-Roll folding gate equipped with an electrical interlock (to prevent operation of unit if open).  Standard construction cab designs are available, such as wood paneling, Formica/Wilson Art panels, egg crate roof, special railings or ornamental trim.

​

​The HYDRAULIC DRIVE SYSTEM raised or lowers the platform cab.  This is achieved via a positive displacement, full rod, hydraulic ram.  The Carriage is suspended by two (2) independent steel roller chains riding over a heavy duty, sprocketed equalizing head assembly.  The design is a 2:1 ratio so that the platform's travel is twice the cylinder stroke.  This design allows the ram to be completely housed within the mast frame, thus eliminating the need for a costly submerged plunger or deep pit.  The hydraulic pumping unit is completely self-contained and remote, operating on 115/208/230 volt, single phase.  The system utilizes state of the art components for sale, trouble-free operation.  Since the hydraulic ram is single acting, the pump-motor is only to run in the rising mode.  Lowering is a gravity function and is accomplished simply by opening a solenoid valve.  The internal check valve will hold the cab firm at landings.  In the event of a power failure, the built in emergency lowering device can be used to safely lower the cab.  ï»¿  

​

The ELECTRICAL CONTROLLER and landing stations control the rising and lowering of the platform cab.  The main controller houses the magnetic contactor, control relays, and transformer.  All controls operate on a 24 volt AC safety circuit.  Standard cab station for a two (2) level application will be key switch controlled on/off pushbutton operated up/down/stop/alarm flush type mounted on the back cab panel.  Landing stations are key switch controlled on/off push-button operated call only for flush mounting.  All control functions are constant pressure (deadmen).  Included are upper and lower terminal limit switches.  Many optional controls and stations are available, such as multi-level call and send, automatic self-maintained, illuminated buttons, etc.

​

The FALLING DECK SAFETY DEVICE is a standard feature on all FlorLIFT Multi-Level Lifts.  In the unlikely event that both suspension chains were to become slack or brake simultaneously, the quick acting safeties, which are two (2) independent serrated braking cams, will engage, driving the hardened teeth deep into the mast rails holding the platform cab in place.

​

The SLACK CHAIN LIMIT SWITCH is another standard safety device incorporated into the Multi-Level Lift.  If either or both suspension chains become slack, the limit switch will close the lowering solenoid holding the ram in place not allowing it to bottom out. 

​

Multi-Level Pumping Unit Requirements: Generally, it is recommended that the electric/hydraulic pumping unit be located at the lower level behind the mast frame bearing wall.  However, if the application requires an alternate location, the pumping unit can be located anywhere within the location of the shaft.  Note: Hydraulic feed lines from the base of the hydraulic ram and pumping unit greater than 10'-0" will need to be hard piped.  

​

Multi-Level Electrical Requirements:  Standard lifts operate on a 1 HP dual voltage single phase motor and require a main feed disconnect.  For best efficiency it is recommended that the motor's high voltage be used.  A secondary line on 115 Volt 15-amp dedicated breaker is also needed for the lowering solenoid, alarm bell, and cab lighting.  Note: Electrical control [panel can be shipped loose for wall mounting. shipped loose for wall mounting.

-VERTICAL CONVEYOR RECIPROCTING SPECIFICATIONS:

​

  • Sequence of Operations for Vertical Reciprocating Conveyors that Comply with ANSI/ASME B 20.1

  • FlorLIFTs are constructed with all steel framework and platform designed in accordance with conservative engineering practices. 

  • FlorLIFT raises and lowers a steel platform with ball bearing steel roller wheels in guided 4" steel channels - using a single acting hydraulic ram coupled to an electric pumping unit, using two lifting chains alloy hardened heavy duty single strand roller chain.

-MATERIAL LIFT MODEL SPECIFICATIONS:  MODEL FL-102 / FL-103

​

Our vertical reciprocating conveyor is installed under ANSI/ASME b 20.1 - Under the code, there is no riding switch.  Riding the conveyor shall be forbidden to all personnel.  Warning signs to this effect should be prominently posted at each point of access and at each point of operation.  The sequence of operation is as follows. The operator can call or send the unit to any floor from outside the shaftway only.  No riders or personnel are allowed to ride a VRC B20.1 device.  All doors are equipped with electro-mechanical interlocks.  If shaftway doors are open, the unit will not operate.  If a folding gate is provided, the folding gate is provided with an electrical limit switch.  If the doors or gates are open, the unit will not operate until all doors and gates are closed or locked.  The pumping unit must be installed outside the shaftway.  In the event of complete power failure, the pumping unit is equipped with a hand lowering valve so the unit can be lowered to the lowest point.  The emergency hand lowering valve is to be used only in the event of power failure. This VRC has been approved as a material lift under B 20.1 ANSI/ASME in most states.  All FlorLIFTs are custom-made to suit your needs in regard to platform size, height and special equipment.    â€‹

​

OPERATION OF UNIT:  Push the button, motor pumps oil and lifts cylinder.  Push the down button, oil returns to tank and lift descends to first floor.  Each chain travels over two steel sprockets that are mounted in a leveling cross head and attached to the cylinder; this crosshead levels the lifting platform.  The chains are welded to the cylinder rises, the chains pull the platform to the desired height. 

​

CONTROLS: Controls are either constant pressure or momentary contact call and send.  One control at each level is either call or call and send with lighted switches.

​

POWER:  208/230 single phase or 3 phase 60 HZ.​

​

​​​SLACK CHAIN SWITCHES:  To prevent accidents, we installed an electrical slack chain switch.  As the lift descends, if the chain slacks one inch, the slack chain shuts off the power and the cylinder and the lift stops immediately.  Push the up button and the lift will rise and whatever is obstructing the unit underneath has to be removed and then the lift will work properly again.  Then and only then will it descend.

​

PLATFORM SAFETY FALLING DEVICE:  If the slack chain switch fails, then the platform safety falling device comes into action.  Should both chains break simultaneously, the slack chain switch would not work, but when the chains break, the lift will fall about 3 or 4 inches.  The platform safety device is mounted on the lifting platform carriage.  It has self-generating type cams, spring loaded and have machine hardened teeth which rapidly engage the mast uprights, dig in hard and deep and hold the lifting platform and prevent the load from falling.

​

LIFTING CHAIN:  Two single-strand, alloy, hardened, heavy duty, and roller.  LIFTING TYPE are each capacities to sustain many times total rated load capacity of lifter.  Chains attached at one end at OUTER EDGES OF LIFTING PLATFORM to provide extra load stability, are mounted over chain LOAD ROLLERS carried in an equalizing type RAM CROSS HEAD and at the other ends are attached to MAIN FRAMEWORK with adjustable anchor TAKE-UPS.  Each chain is capable of supporting the entire load and has an ultimate breaking strength of 7,000 lbs. each - a total of 14,000 lbs. 

​

HOSE:  Hose leading from pumping unit to the cylinder has a bursting strength of 7,000 lbs.

​

FOLDING GATES:  Manually operated.  At each entrance or exit is a folding gate.  Gate is equipped with an electrical mechanical switch.  Lift will not operate if gates are open

​

SAFETY FLOW VALVE:  Safety flow valve is mounted at the bottom of the cylinder and adjusts the descending speed of the lift.  Attached to this is a hose that goes to the pumping unit.  Should the hose break or develop a leak, the safety flow valve keeps the lift from falling and descends at the rate of 15 feet per minute.  Hand lowering valve - In the event of power failure, the lift can be let down by a hand lowering valve on the pumping unit. 

​

SAFETY RELIEF VALVE:  The unit is designed to lift between 750 to 1000 lbs.  If the lift is overloaded, it will not go up until the proper weight is reached. 

​

SAFETY DOOR LOCKS:  At each opening, there will be an electric door lock which prevents the door from opening until the platform has reached that height.  Should the door be left open, the lift will not leave that floor until the door is closed. 

​

LIMIT SWITCHES:  The unit is equipped with upper and lower limit switches to prevent over-travel.  The hydraulic cylinder is also designed to prevent over travel.

​

HAND LOWERING VALVE AND PUMPING UNIT:  FlorLIFT is equipped with a hand lowering valve to be used only in an emergency.  If power is lost, the hand lowering valve is used to lower the lift to the lowest floor.  The pumping unit must be remote and placed outside the shaftway for easy access to use the hand lowering valve or any electrical repair.  No one should be under the lift when using the hand lowering valve.

Over the years, FlorLIFT Elevator has been recognized as a "holeless elevator pioneer."  Models are available to suit every holeless need.  The economical dual single stage design utilizes a standard hoistway size.  The single and multi stage cantilever design can accommodate low to mid rise requirements and can serve front and side openings.  Mid to high rise rope hydraulic design allows travel over one hundred feet without wellhole and without exerting loads on the upper structure of the building.
